Thursday 3rd April - walk ***** – Newbourne Springs including a
picnic – sunny.
After two days of hectic windsurf foiling I had one eye on the weather
today but the wind looked marginal so I did my exercises in the sunny, warm
back garden with Mag joining me to pot up her new plug plants, nice t have
a relaxing morning at home:) I checked the wind around 12.30 and decided to
give windsurfing a miss, especially as loads of wind coming over the next
three days and backed a picnic, after doing a few things round Felixstowe
we headed over to Newbourne Springs for a walk and picnic and didn’t see
another soul just perfect! We set off on our walk at two with the sky the
deepest blue with the celandine s looking lovely, we ambled by the crystal
clear stream, sadly they have fenced a section off close to one of the main
springs :( We headed out to the healthy section to enjoy our picnic in
absolute peace and quiet, in fact we both dozed off in the warm sunshine:)
We carried on down to the lower section where Mag collected some dead bark
for the garden and spotted a grass snake, in fact it was a good day for
wildlife seeing, a couple of deer, loads of butterfly's, wrens, tits,
blackbirds, heard the buzzards with loads of primroses too, just lovely:)
There was 28 sheep in the marshy area with a lot of them standing on the
wooden walkway! What a top day and we are enjoying the sunny weather but
our garden and the farmers are desperate for rain but nothing coming for
day!
